Performance evaluation of amino-functionalized mesoporous/PES nanofiltration membrane in anionic dye removal from aqueous solutions

Abstract In this study, the FSM-16 and modified by metformin (FSM-16-met) additives were applied as modifiers for polyethersulfone-based membranes. The membranes evaluated in terms of morphology, surface roughness, hydrophilicity, pure water flux, pore size porosity, resistance ability. obtained experimental data indicated promising enhancement permeated flux hydrophilicity after introducing FSM-16-met nanomaterials into membrane texture. case assessment fabricated membranes, dye removal capability was performed using direct red-16 methyl orange (30 mg/L). showed significantly higher rejection ability (> 97% 95% orange) compared to bare (76% 74% orange). antifouling evaluations run milk powder (1000 mg/L) filtration best performance with 0.1wt.% (FRR = 95.55 ± 1.91%, R ir 4.45 0.089%). Also, effect feed pH concentration, temperature, driving force considered on behavior. High stability long-term also observed 25 h re-running.
